LOSS DAMAGE WAIVER (LDW)
In case of damage to the Hertz vehicle, the renter is liable for the Accident Damage
Excess (ADE) of $2812.50 incl G.S.T. for groups B F and $3375 incl G.S.T. for groups
H M. The ADE can be reduced to NIL by purchasing the Accident Excess Reduction
(AER). The charge for AER is $28.13 incl G.S.T. for groups B F and $33.75 incl G.S.T.
for groups H M.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The minimum driving age is 21 years for all groups with the exception of group M. For
group M a minimum of 25 years applies.
Additional drivers are free of charge but must be registered on the rental agreement and
their drivers license sighted at pick up of the vehicle.
One way rentals of 3 days or more are free with 1 2 day rentals incurring a fee of $56.25
incl G.S.T. For one way rentals involving both islands, there is no one way fee applicable if
the rental period in each island is a minimum of 3 days.
ADDITIONAL EXTRAS
Infant / child / booster seats are available at $45 incl G.S.T. per hire and must be
prebooked.
NeverLost Hertz portable GPS system is available at participating locations at a
charge of $11.20 incl G.S.T. per day and is paid direct to Hertz on pick up of the vehicle.
The units are available on all vehicle types and are subject to availability we strongly
recommend you request a unit at time of reservation.
If collection is at an airport, wharf or ferry terminal a concession recovery
fee of $39.38 incl G.S.T. will apply and is paid direct to Hertz on pick up of the vehicle.
After hours collections may incur a surcharge please be aware of depot hours before
booking flights.
A remote location surcharge of $45 incl G.S.T. is applicable for rentals commencing
Kerikeri or Gisbourne.
Strict driving restrictions do apply please ensure you advise your travel agent and
Hertz of all driving intentions to avoid disappointment.
